Finding Home

In every culture, the thing we cherish the most is "Home," when so little beyond the familiar is safe any more. Many of us live with the romantic notion of finding that place in our memory that represents sanctuary, safety, and community even if leaving home is a way of escaping or abandoning our place of origin. Perhaps it is the illusion of home that remains in our memory and drives us to find a place of belonging. There are similar patterns and rituals that tie us to our harbors, but may not lead us to finding home in this transient world, but instead, provide us with a sense of belonging no matter where we land.
